Hola from Colombia

So far, Colombia has been amazing. The people are the friendliest I have ever met -- and are all working so hard to make their country better and better...as evidenced by the peace march (no màs FARC-no more FARC) we joined in today in Bogota. There were marches all over the world so perhaps you´ve seen it on the news. Let me tell you, it was an incredible experience to be with all of the Colombians showing, saying, demanding that their country continue to improve.

In addition, the scenery here has been pretty incredible. We spent about a week on the Caribbean coast, including an all-inclusive resort (for only $60 more than our plane ticket, we added 3 nights of this), an amazing national park where we camped, and the legendary city of Cartegena which did not fail to impress. Our favorite place was definitely Parque Tayrona...here´s a photo of the beach which was just a short trek into the park.

Now, we are finishing off our time in the lovely city of
Bogota, surrounded by beautiful mountains, on our way to Medallín (don´t worry if you don´t know this city, I´d never heard of it before either).

In other news:

*Arturo was sick and is now healthy

*I am now sick with the flu and cannot seem to get rid
of it
*We dropped the camera, broke the lens, and got it
fixed in one day for $50
*I am discovering first-hand the differences between
Spanish in countries (not so much that one cannot be understood, but still obvious differences)
*The coffee really is incredible
